Terms of Service

By installing or using the BraceKit browser extension (“Extension”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not install or use the Extension.

1. About BraceKit

BraceKit is a browser extension that provides an AI-powered chat sidebar. The Extension connects to third-party AI providers using API keys that you supply. BraceKit does not provide AI services directly and is not responsible for the output of any AI provider.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use BraceKit. By using the Extension, you represent that you meet this requirement and that you have the legal capacity to agree to these Terms.

3. API Keys and Third-Party Services

  • You are responsible for obtaining your own API keys from AI providers.
  • You are responsible for all costs and charges incurred through your API key usage.
  • You agree to comply with the terms of service of any AI provider you configure in BraceKit (including OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, xAI, DeepSeek, Ollama, and others).
  • BraceKit is not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or content of responses generated by third-party AI providers.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use BraceKit to:

  • Violate any applicable law or regulation.
  • Infringe upon the intellectual property rights of others.
  • Generate, transmit, or store content that is illegal, harmful, abusive, or deceptive.
  • Circumvent or attempt to circumvent security measures of the Extension or any third-party service.
  • Engage in automated abuse of third-party AI provider APIs.

5. Privacy

Your use of BraceKit is also governed by our Privacy Policy. All conversation data and settings are stored locally on your device. BraceKit does not transmit your data to its own servers.

6. Intellectual Property

BraceKit and its original content, features, and source code are owned by the BraceKit project. You may not copy, modify, redistribute, sublicense, or create derivative works from BraceKit without explicit permission, except as permitted by the applicable open-source license.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE EXTENSION IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, BRACEKIT DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE
  • WARRANTIES OF NON-INFRINGEMENT
  • WARRANTIES THAT THE EXTENSION WILL BE ERROR-FREE, UNINTERRUPTED, OR SECURE
  • WARRANTIES REGARDING THE ACCURACY OR RELIABILITY OF ANY AI-GENERATED CONTENT

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL BRACEKIT OR ITS CONTRIBUTORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES (INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION) ARISING FROM:

  • Your use of or inability to use the Extension.
  • Any content generated by third-party AI providers.
  • Unauthorized access to your locally stored data.
  • Any other matter relating to the Extension.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless BraceKit and its contributors from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with:

  • Your use of the Extension.
  • Your violation of these Terms.
  • Your violation of the terms of any third-party AI provider.
  • Any content you submit to third-party AI providers through the Extension.

The Extension may include links to third-party websites or services. BraceKit has no control over and assumes no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.

11. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. The “Effective Date” at the top of this page will reflect the latest revision. Continued use of the Extension after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Indonesia, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
